Frank Ocean: Novacane

Odd Future affiliate Frank Ocean premiers his new video ‘Novacane’ from his popular mixtape ‘Nostalgia, Ultra’. Which will now be released as a commercial album.

The effects of the video become apparent, Frank Ocean makes clear of the situation in his story which has smart overlays and film panning to create a dreamy setting.

He’s in a hotel suite for which he remains seated, whist clouds of smoke producing imagery of animals, women and greenery constantly appear.

A clear visual of his altered state. You follow Frank Ocean’s journey throughout this erie experience, an abrupt smack which he takes to the face ends the video in the most poignant way.

Novacane (Procaine) is a local anesthetic drug of the amino ester group. It is used primarily to reduce the pain of intramuscular injection of penicillin, and it is also used in dentistry.
